Pals, this has been my "very interested topic" as I worked a lot on Environmental change in my college and in near by areas. People are in dual mind set right now. For instance, they are not sure if the climate change is real and if it is then is it possible to protect the climate by just planting trees or reducing the consumption of fossils, saving electricity etc. And, if the change is not real, then why the people around them are talking so much about the change.
The simple answer to this is-
We can see the climate change. Its happening. Icebergs are melting and the water level is rising. There is no doubt about it. The temperature is also increasing year by year. The months are shifting. Less rainfall during the expected season. And, there could be possible only one reason i.e Climate change.
But, isnt t natural ? Earth has a tendency to change over time. It is not going to remain intact and as it is was a couple of years ago. So, can't we just consider it a "NATURAL PHENOMENA" ?
I recently attended on International conference by Earth Charter 10 plus in India. The participants came for the conference were not so much aware of Climate change. No literature work they have done. But, still they want to save climate. Two simple reasons for that-
1. They have nothing else to do.
2. They know that this can fetch them some real good dollars. <LOL>
Whatever the case, the fact remains disclose.
I think, the climate change is a natural process but because of our extreme activities, it is happening a bit fast. In the Movie "The unconvienient truth", Al Gore, shew a graph on how the temperature is changing and what will happen if it continues to change in a similar fashion in future. Well he answered, we will be hit by "ICE AGE". wow.. Do you think we would be able to survive ?? Just like the main cast did in the Movie "The Day after tomorrow".
Went to an Event in Slovenia, Bled by Challenge future. The people were very enthusiastic and easy learner.
We really lack the knowledge of Environmental Science and I think it is the most fantastic thing to discover some more about the Environment with Science. What does Science say about it ? What are the future predictions? The real one..!!

ReplyDeleteOf course you directed the audience towards a different side. I also participated to that conference and to be frank at that time, I didn’t have a deeper idea about the climate change issues and what is really happening in the world rather than watching them on news, movies and internet. That is because we didn’t see the reality behind these matters. Back in my home I was thinking that why can’t we act practically than talking and arguing. We want action rather than anything else. Meanwhile the message should convey to the public highlighting the importance of taking actions immediately. So as the participants of the conference we hold the responsibility to convey the message to public. I must say that I was impressed about the youth participants in that conference. Future of our world is in our hands!! Keep up the good work :)
